Last week we had a fantastic time at Comic Book Camp! The campers learned about character development, drawing, storytelling with images and the art of creating unique comic book stories. We also discussed how cartoons and comics come to life through flip books, animation and stop motion film. The kids had exposure to tons of current and classic comic books and graphic novels for reference as well as a staff expert in sequential design - Artist Cullen Gardepe. Check out some of the awesome tools and such that the kids were able use to develop their works
(Links below are affiliate links to products that directly benefits the studio material purchases. These are actual products we use in the studio and love!)

1. Sakura 30068 8-Piece Pigma Micron Assorted Colors 01 Ink Pen Set - these are great for line work, inking designs and just general black work when using the brush style pens. They are permanent and archival. These are used by artists, illustrators and the like in the professional setting. Great for a budding illustrator or sequetial artist!
2. Faber-Castel Pitt Artist Brush Pens
Beautiful, excellent brush tip markers can be used for line work as well as coloring after inking. Brilliant, bright colors that are bleed-proof and waterproof. Great for all interested in drawing and using a good quality marker. Many set sizes to fit your budget.

3. The Blank Comic Book Panelbook
These are great books for kids that prefer pre-drawn panels or a book they can work in for ideas. Comes in a variety of sizes and panel layouts.
And lastly, some recommended books for those interested in learning more about specific drawing styles:
  1. Manga for the Beginner
  2. Manga for the Beginner - Shouja
  3. Making Comics: Storytelling Secrets of Comics, Manga and Graphic Novels
